Embrace 2007
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July
19-22, 2007 Atlanta GA
Embrace 2007 will
deliver a world-class fine art event here in the heart of Atlanta,
bringing
together some of the world’s finest galleries, all featuring original,
collector quality art of the African Diaspora. We have an incredible
group of 27 galleries, from as
far away as Paris, New York, and Ontario, to Vaknin Gallery (Kojo
Griffin's
gallery), right here in Atlanta, all bringing their masterworks
together under
one roof for this 4-day fine art event.
Embrace will kick
off
Thursday evening, July 19, with our not-to-be-missed Preview
Party. Community
partners include 100 Black Men of Atlanta and The Links, and Essence
Magazine
will be launching their EssenceCares Mentoring Program here in Atlanta,
that
evening. Come sip
cocktails and fine wines, nibble hor's d'oeuvres, and listen to live
music all
while getting a sneak peek at works by masters of the African Diaspora.
The
evening benefits EssenceCares and The National Black Arts Festival.
Panel discussions,
lectures, and special exhibitions scheduled throughout the weekend
deliver
compelling content- On Saturday bestselling author Dr.
Halima Taha will lecture on her book "Collecting African
American Art." Congressman John Lewis will lead a panel
discussion on the Artists' Fair Market
Deduction Bill. A must-hear for museum curators, directors, board
members,
artists, and collectors! On Sunday the NBA's
Darryl Walker and Elliot Perry present a Panel Discussion on
African
American Art- what they own, how they got started collecting, and why
they feel
it is so important to support African American art and artists.
Special hotel
packages featuring accommodations, tickets, and shuttles between
Embrace and
other National Black Arts Festival events are now available, making
Atlanta an
amazing arts destination this summer. Check out www.embraceatl.com
