Parish Gallery is pleased to present Robert E. Paige, a unique textile artist, in an exhibition entitled “Paige One”.  This exhibition will open with a reception from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, June 19^th and will run through July 13, 2009. 

 Paige has traveled for more than three decades throughout the world of art as an educator, a creator, or a critic of sorts.  His journey has taken him from the Art Institute of Chicago, as a student and alumni, to professional visits to the land of the finest silks, Lake Como and Milan, Italy.  He has explored Dakar, Africa and toured 56 United States cities to promote his collection designed exclusively for Sears, Roebuck & Company.

Geometric patterns and shapes of all types grace Paige’s fibers and canvases to express pure art and total design.  Paige has an eye for subtle color combinations and organic patterns that vibrate with the intensity of his African heritage.  His designs glow with disciplined creativity.

 As the new century unfolds before us, Paige is at his very best design form.  His vision explodes with the life cycles around him.  Every piece in his design portfolio, whether a scrap or bolt, is without question one of a kind.
